Bespoke green steel windows and doors for Art Deco style London home

Clement was delighted to be asked to replace the original metal window and door frames at this charming 1930s detached home in London. The house is full of character, much of which is driven by its unusual green fenestration.

As the colour was such a key feature of the property, it was imperative that the new replacement windows and doors stayed as close to the original designs as possible. The original glass panes also featured a distinctive Art Deco Fenestra joint bar design, which we were able to faithfully recreate, while also delivering a significantly improved specification with the new windows and doors.

The Clement EB20 range was chosen as the ideal solution for the windows, with Clement W40 profiles selected for the doors. Both systems offer greatly improved thermal performance, enhanced security and easier maintenance.

A unique feature of the new steel windows and doors is the dual colour finish. The exterior frames were finished in the perfect shade of green to match the original fenestration, while the interior frames were finished in white to complement the clients’ interiors. The result is a sympathetic restoration that preserves the character and distinctive Art Deco detailing of the original home, while providing all the benefits of modern steel windows and doors.
