When a client asks us to return time and time again for further projects, it is always a privilege. This job has been particularly special as it is also local to our Headquarters in Haslemere, Surrey.
In various phases, Clement have replaced the original diagonal leaded steel windows at this property with more thermally efficient and secure EB24 replacements. Most recently we returned to glaze the new extension, again with EB24, but this time with G+ bars.
The owner said: “Our house was originally built in the ‘Mock Tudor’ style in 1953 and as a result it had single glazed leaded light windows. When originally built it only had two relatively small reception rooms. Over the years there have been several additions to the house to help compensate for the size of the reception rooms, but the house still ‘cried out’ for a large sitting room.
We commissioned local architect Perry Barnes of PBGW Architects to look into resolving not only this long standing issue but also to incorporate more energy efficiency windows. From the outset, Perry recommended Clement Windows and proposed their industrial Art Deco style windows for the new sitting room ground floor extension. While this initially seemed a radical departure from using leaded light windows the resulting design was, in fact, far more aesthetically pleasing. Of particular note was the choice of Clement’s EB24 windows, which allow far more light into the house but also complement the remaining leaded light windows on the first floor.
We have been so pleased with the design and build quality of the new sitting room windows that we have progressively replaced most of the remaining original leaded light windows with Clement leaded light windows which are visually an exact replacement of the original windows. We should also add that Clement’s Installation Teams were courteous, efficient, highly professional and did a first rate job on each occasion.”
