Did you know that Clement Windows Group manufactures and installs the black steel doors so popular in interior design today?
It is ten years now since our black steel doors featured on the front cover of Livingetc magazine and the stir that caused shows little sign of waning in 2024.
The simple fact of the matter is that steel is unbeatable as a framing material for internal doors and screens. Steel is inherently strong and this brings not only greater durability and security but also allows for slender frames and the largest expanses of glass – something which is just not possible with other materials such as aluminium. An internal door or screen set will not be like any other kind of door as it will increase the amount of light in your space, making it the perfect room divider.
Over the years, several companies have joined the market, but we really do have years of experience in manufacturing and installing a variety of steel door sets in a huge range of different properties. Today, Clement also manufactures Jansen systems which are high performance internal and external doors with superior thermal insulation and fire protection. You can view the different ranges on offer here.
Our steel doors and windows can in fact be painted in any colour – take a look at this case study for some brightly coloured alternatives – and we offer dual colour so if you wanted white doors in your kitchen and blue in your living room this would be possible, but it is still black which is the most popular, tapping into that much sought-after industrial aesthetic.
Here are some recent case studies which have featured Clement black steel doors.
A bespoke W20 internal door screen divides the kitchen and dining area at this superb Arts & Crafts home in Surrey, below. The black steel door perfectly complements the black metal windows and doors on the exterior of the property.
The black steel door at this Yorkshire garden room is finished with reeded glass for extra privacy, but we think it makes a stunning bold design statement too!
