Clement’s yellow & red steel doors brighten up new basement space

March 22nd, 2023

If you follow us on social media, you will have seen how excited we have been about this recent colourful project.

When de Gournay Director Hannah Cecil-Harden was reconfiguring her London home to accommodate her growing family she approached Clement to provide the steel doors for the new basement space which comprises a playroom, utility room and bathroom.  The walls of the playroom were to be adorned with an idyllic hand-painted wallpaper scene of London, full of quirky characters and primary colours, and Hannah wondered if the new steel doors could be painted to match.

The result is a vibrant and fun space for the lucky children of the house.  The Clement steel doors made from our EB24 steel sections are painted in three colours in total – a traditional RAL 9004 Signal Black on the exterior, RAL 1016 Sulfer Yellow on the playroom side and RAL 3005 Wine Red on the utility and bathroom side.

The new space has caused ripples of excitement in several interiors magazines and the team at Clement has been delighted to see the steel doors featured in publications as diverse as Architectural Digest Middle East, Elle Decoration France and Elle Decoration Vietnam, with more to follow!

As you can read on our Window Options page about Colour, Clement’s metal windows, doors and screens can be polyester powder painted virtually any colour you can imagine, with a broad array of options beyond the classic hues usually associated with steel windows which are manufactured for Listed Buildings and heritage refurbishment projects.

The full case study about the project can be viewed on our Residential Case Study page.
