Reeded glass and steel partitions feature in recent Clement Windows projects

July 27th, 2023

We have been asked to manufacture our beautiful steel door screens with reeded glass for a couple of exciting recent projects.

Interior designer Cherie Lee has opted for reeded glass in some of her recent schemes, including her company’s showroom in Hertfordshire. Cherie Lee has long been a fan of our steel and glass screens, but chose to have this one painted white for a softer look. The inclusion of reeded glass softens the view into the storage area on the other side of the doors.

At this contemporary garden room in Yorkshire by One17 Design, who acted as architects, interior designers and project managers for the job, reeded glass was included in the black steel door which divides the bathroom from the rest of the space. Manufactured from Clement W20 steel sections, the handles were polyester powder painted RAL 9004 (Signal Black) to match the door frames.

Reeded glass, which is also known as fluted glass or ribbed glass, is a contemporary, textured glass with a vertical lined design. Apart from looking good, its main benefit is that it is semi-obscure and so it gives a level of privacy just not possible with clear glass.

At Clement our steel doors and screens are available in various styles and colours with multi point locking or a traditional mortice lock. All of them come with safety glass as standard to meet current Building Regulations, but we offer a variety of different glazing types. If the type of glass you are interested in is not displayed on our web site, please speak to a member of our sales team.
