Clement Windows is proud to have worked on many well known commercial metal window projects over the years. From sprawling city landmarks to Art Deco marvels, our team have utilised their skills to tailor make a range of steel windows to fit a wide series of specifications. Here are a few examples of our recent commercial projects.
Clement manufactured and installed metal windows from the W20 range at many of the fine buildings at the University of Manchester. Some of the most prominent Listed Buildings at the institution, including The Beyer Building, the John Owens Building and The Christie Library, were fitted with bespoke Clement windows. Each Gothic structure is of significant national importance and it was vital that the right range of metal windows was chosen to ensure a sensitive replacement which maintained the correct appearance for this precious group of buildings.
Once dubbed the most amazing public building in the world, the magnificent Art Deco, listed Norwich City Hall was given the Clement touch with new, bespoke W20 steel windows to maintain the external character of this landmark building. The window replacements improved energy efficiency and security.
For several years, we have been the steel fenestration company of choice for the prime, Central Park apartment block, The Eldorado Building. This iconic Art Deco building has original steel windows and Clement’s EB24 window range has been selected by our New York representatives, Skyline Windows, to replicate these in several apartments. As no two apartments are the same, this was a challenging project, but we were able to use our vast experience to deliver it successfully.
Clement was involved in a £30million restoration project, led by Lifschutz Davidson & Sandilands, to revive the prestigious Bonhams Auction House on London’s New Bond Street. One of the main challenges when replacing the building’s array of windows was to replicate a set of 15 curved, Art Deco façade windows. Templates were drawn up to assist the design and manufacture of each unique W20 steel window, fitted with toughened, laminated glass. Dark bronze silicone added a final level of detail when reproducing the original putty.
This grand, mid-19th century, listed, Gothic academic property replaced its 100 year old windows and Clement’s EB24 range with Georgian accessories was chosen for the task. A former refuge and educational institution for Catholic orphans from 1848, the school’s original cast iron windows needed the Clement touch to vastly improve energy efficiency and security. Care was taken to preserve the existing aesthetics of the property. Our team removed each intricate window piece by piece to preserve the façade and 24mm insulated glass units were installed with matching silicone fronting.
